- Make ready 500 gm basmati rice
- Prepare 400 gm meat
- Take 250 gm potato
- Take 2 onion
- Take 1 tomato
- Prepare 4 green chillies
- Prepare 2 cloves
- Get 2 cardamom
- Prepare 1 small cinnamon
- Take 1/2 star anise
- Take 2 bay leaves
- Prepare 1 pod garlic
- Make ready 200 gm refined oil
Tahri (also tehri, tehari or tayari) is a yellow rice dish in Awadhi cuisine. Spices are added to plain cooked rice for flavor and colour. In one version of Tehri, potatoes are added to the rice. This dish is most popular in Hyderabad and Nanded.
Instructions to make Tehri:
- Take all the whole garam masala, onion chopped, ginger garlic, tomato and grind to a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a cooker and fry onion sliced… Then add the meat and fry along with the onion… Then add the grind paste and mix all… Cook for 2 -3 mins…and then pressure cook for 2 whistles and let it cool…
- Then open the lid and cook the meat till it's dry, then add the diced potato and rice and mix well for another 4 mins… And add 1 l water to it… Mix and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Open the lid and stir the rice lightly… Then serve hot.. on plate.
Veg tehri recipe - Tehri, tehari or tahari is a one pot dish originated from the Awadhi cuisine. It is mildly spicy, delicious & flavorful. It is most commonly eaten for a meal in North India. This is a variation of the Veg pulao recipe, but includes spice powders too. Tehri is a city and a municipal board in Tehri Garhwal District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
